smart analog for sensory processing

PRODUCTS

The APT Technology enables a very broad array of end products, largely depending on the sensor/signal processing requirements. Representative examples include:

Acoustic Processing

Acoustic processing enhances microphone or micro-speaker performance, resulting in improved intelligibility and a better listening experience. Using APT Technology, handset and headphone products can incorporate superior noise reduction, lower latency echo cancellation, better bass response as well as active-noise cancellation algorithms - all at a fraction of the power required in traditional DSP-based implementations.

Speech Processing

Traditional speech processing deteriorates unacceptably in the presence of noise, limiting usage in automobile and outdoor environments. With APT Technology, analog speech processing systems can deliver significantly better performance. Headsets will benefit from more robust voice dialing, and portable electronics from more effective voice commands. Cepstrum Filtering, Vector Quantization and other speech processing blocks perform better in noisy environments, often consuming 1/80th the power.

Image Processing

The output of image sensors typically is garbled and unusable without first applying backend signal processing such as black compensation, color balance, and filtering, to create discernable RGB images. Using APT Technology, these functions can be integrated, often consuming 1/25th the power budget.

Biometric Processing

Fingerprint swipe/array sensors are increasingly used to protect personal data in a broad range of portable electronic devices. Image processing matches a reference image against one read, correcting for warping, rotation and other aberrations. Processing needs to be accurate, rapid and secure. Using APT Technology, the sensory processing chain can operate continuously with extremely low power consumption and no software overhead.
